Mechanism - modern brutal metal

I first met Mechanism when they were opening for my band Tiarah in Becej a few years ago. I remembered the singer cos he was brutal as hell, and the drummer cos he was scared and sucked. A few years later they approached me with the recorded material for the demo they were about to release and I listened to it. The recording wasn't that good in terms of recording quality but the songs was great and I decided to do it. What cought me it that the drummer was 10x better then when they started the band. He did a great job playing these tracks without a metronome. That part was the biggest problem as I recall it. There were no tempo tracks for the songs so I couldn't edit any of the drums at all, and it had to be the case with the guitars too. The kick drum was really muddy so I had to trigger it, the triggers didn't sound convincing but the dynamics of the recording was as it was and I couldn't do crap about it. The snare was too loud in the overheads and high-tuned so it stayed that loud on the recording. The second phase was to add some samples where needed, cos the boys told me I can do what I want as long as it sound good. My favorite track is "Another day in Paradise", I think that could be remade into a masterpiece.
